DESCRIPTION:We are proud to welcome Detska Kitka\, award-winning youth choir from Columbia's sister city Plovdiv\, Bulgaria\, to perform two stunning performances across South Carolina\, and to lead music workshops for our local youth.\n\n\n\nA Balkan Bouquet presents a captivating blend of Bulgarian folklore\, Eastern Orthodox\, and Contemporary international choral music.\n\n\n\n\n\nConductor:\n\nYana Deliradeva is a distinguished Bulgarian choral conductor\, widely recognized for her innovative work with children's choirs and her dedication to music education. She studied choral conducting in both Bulgaria and the United States\, earning her master's degree at Westminster Choir College in Princeton under the mentorship of Prof. Joseph Flummerfelt.\n\n\n\nUpon returning to Bulgaria in 2002\, Yana joined the renowned Detska Kitka Choir in Plovdiv as Assistant Conductor. Since 2011\, she has served as the choir's Chief Conductor\, leading over 120 singers from more than 30 schools in the city.
